As the air cools and pumpkin spice season arrives, interiors take on a new personality. Fall is the season of rich hues, layered textures, and natural warmth — and this year, the trends are leaning toward cozy sophistication. At Known Design, we’ve been exploring how to bring autumn into your home with timeless materials, layered finishes, and a touch of luxury.

The Autumn Mood Board: Moody Meets Warmth

We recently shared a behind-the-scenes video of our autumn interior mood board, and here’s a look at the process that inspired it.

We started with a dark Portland ash wood laminate, creating the perfect moody base for fall interiors. From there, we added depth with a rusty brown botanical wallpaper by ARTE, an earthy yet refined nod to nature.

To layer in warmth, we selected caramel velvet and burnt chenille fabrics, finishing with a geometric patterned textile for visual interest. Nothing speaks to fall quite like tactile fabrics and rich upholstery — the kind that invites you to sink in and stay awhile.

“Design Tip: Layer rich textures — like velvet, brass, and natural stone — to bring warmth and depth to autumn interiors. ”

Autumn design trends this year lean heavily into natural materials with character. To
ground our palette, we introduced the timeless Calacatta Vagli marble, known for its elegance. For added drama, the Rosso Calamandina marble — with its striking red tones and gold veining — brought depth and vibrancy.

To balance the darker wood tones, we layered in a natural silk wood champagne veneer and antique brass mesh. These materials not only catch the light beautifully but also create a sense of refined craftsmanship.

Cozy Comforts: Textiles and Accents

Fall is all about comfort, and the details make the difference. We customized a rug of 100% New Zealand wool poms, adding plushness underfoot. To keep the space
harmonious, a neutral Caesar ceramic Itria tile and a bone-colored solid surface softened the overall palette.

And of course, no autumn interior is complete without seasonal accents — pampas grass, acorns, and organic touches that bring a grounded warmth to the space.

Fall 2025: Interiors With Depth

This autumn, interior design is about balance — moody yet inviting, luxurious yet livable. Think deep woods, rich marble, plush textiles, and warm accents that transform a space into a sanctuary.

At Known Design, we see fall not just as a season, but as a feeling — one you can bring into your home through thoughtful design and curated layers.

What do you think of our autumn mood board? Would you bring these cozy, luxurious textures into your home this season?
